Even if he'd never written a single song, Will Rigby would be a figure to be reckoned with, thanks to his status as co-founder of alt-pop icons The dB's and his prior membership in the seminal indie-popsters Sneakers and the fabled Little Diesel, as well as his yeoman work as drummer for the likes of Steve Earle, Matthew Sweet, Laura Cantrell, Kelly Willis, Cheri Knight and Murray Attaway.

Equally significant, if less well-known, is Rigby's parallel life as a singular singer, songwriter and sonic auteur. His 1985 solo LP Sidekick Phenomenon (on Yo La Tengo's Egon label) introduced Rigby as both a one-of-a-kind tunesmith and an early exponent of lo-fi home recording. He continued to deliver the solo goods on such now-classic singles as "Dave" and "Red Bra and Panties," and on his acclaimed 2002 CD Paradoxoholic. Now, Rigby takes a brief respite from his ongoing work with the reunited dB's and Steve Earle's Dukes to deliver another scintillating solo slab.
